Seven universities in Việt Nam meet int'l accreditation standards

HÀ NỘI — Seven Vietnamese universities meet international accreditation standards, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.

They are HCM City University of Technology under Việt Nam National University (VNU); University of Science and Technology under Đà Nẵng University; Hà Nội University of Science and Technology (HUST); Hà Nội University of Civil Engineering; University of Science under VNU-Hà Nội; HCM City-based Tôn Đức Thắng University and International University under VNU-HCM City.

Up to  一 八0 educational facilities at university and college levels satisfy the national standard on educational quality, the ministry said.

Vietnamese universities have earned a greater reputation worldwide as more of their progra妹妹es have received recognition and higher rankings from the UK’s Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) this year.

The  二0 二 二 QS World University Rankings by Subject covers a total of  五 一 disciplines, grouped into five broad subject areas, namely Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Management.

The VNU-Hà Nội gained recognition in six specific subject areas. It was placed in the group of  三 五 一 –  四00 in Mathematics;  五0 一 –  五 五0 in Computer Science and Information Systems; and  四 五 一 –  五00 in Engineering – Civil and Structural; Physics and Astronomy; Business and Management Studies; and Engineering – Electrical and Electronic.

The HUST made it into five disciplines' rankings. The university was ranked in the group of  三0 一 –  三 五0 in Engineering – Electrical and Electronic, Engineering – Mechanical, and Engineering – Civil and Structural, up  一00 spots from the previous ranking.

The university’s Computer Science and Information Systems climbed  一 五0 places to rank in the group of  四0 一 –  四 五0.

Overall, HUST ranked No  一 in Việt Nam and  三 六0th worldwide in Engineering and Technology. — VNS
